Why this course exists
A licence on every desktop isn't adoption.
This course addresses the real blockers we've encountered in New Zealand businesses: capability cracks, confidence issues, and the gap between access and meaningful adoption. You close that gap by doing real jobs in Copilot and checking them, not by watching a tool walkthrough.

Copilot is switched on, but skills vary wildly across the team. A few power users carry the load while everyone else taps the surface.

People worry about trusting the output, breaking something or looking silly. So they quietly go back to the old way of working.
Access without adoption.
A licence doesn't change how work gets done. Adoption takes real jobs handed to Copilot and checked before they go anywhere, which is what every section of this course is built on.

Much of the course is about checking: the green shield, version history as a safety net, tracing a number back to its source, and spotting when Copilot invents one.
What it is not.
It is not a Microsoft certification, and it is not affiliated with or endorsed by Microsoft. It is not for anyone without a paid Microsoft 365 Copilot licence. How it works
One office move, all the way through.
Harbourline is moving office, and Sarah is organising it. Short scenes from Sarah set up each job, and you use Copilot to do it: review the lease safely, turn a lazy prompt into a project plan, draft the staff move guide, write the all-staff announcement, build the staff survey and turn three unmatched quotes into a budget.
Then the townhall deck, the issues and actions from the townhall recording, a benchmark of the move against New Zealand practice, the post-move staff sentiment survey, a Harbourline FAQ assistant, and finally a post-move review for the board.

Do I need a Copilot licence?
Yes, a paid Microsoft 365 Copilot licence. The course has you working with Copilot inside Word, Outlook, Forms, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams, and we would rather you knew that now than found out halfway through a section.
I'm new to AI. Is it for me?
Yes. It is written for anyone with a Copilot licence, whether new to AI or already the person the team asks. Section 1 starts with what generative AI is and why its output always needs checking.
How do I earn the certificate?
Complete every lesson and correctly answer every quiz. There are 14 quizzes across the first three sections, and each section opens once every quiz in the one before it is passed at 100 percent.
What if I get a quiz question wrong?
After each quiz you see which questions you have right. Try again as many times as you need.
Is it a Microsoft certification?
No. The certificate is issued by AI New Zealand. It is not affiliated with any Microsoft training courses or certifications, and does not constitute Microsoft endorsed training.
How is it different from AI at Work Foundations?
AI at Work Foundations is tool-neutral: the rules, the risks and the judgement before anyone is handed a tool. This course is hands-on with Microsoft Copilot, for people who already have a licence.
Will my employer see my answers?
No. On a Business account your organisation sees who has completed and the outcome. Your answers stay private to you.
How do I buy it for my team?
Up to five seats can go on a card. From six to 49 people, set up a Business account, invoiced at the lower rate from the first seat. From 50, apply for a Corporate account. Associations can offer it to their members.
